Highly Aggressive Driver in Mini YO73 XHD forces me into parked cars

21 Mar, 2026 - 2 months ago

Cycling along Woodhayes Road, Wimbledon, heading towards Raynes Park. I filtered past a white Mini to stop behind a silver Mercedes that had stopped at the Zebra Crossing outside King;s College. Once the pedestrians had crossed, both myself and the silver Mercedes moved forward. Both sides of the road were full of parked cars so the road was quite narrow. The white Mini CountryMan, registration YO73 XHD, started behind me but as we moved forward, he then moved over to the right and pulled alongside me. He then turned straight into me, not having cleared me. I was thern forced by this driver in towards the parked cars on my left. We were still moving, firstly downhill with speed increasing. The driver continued to force me into the parked cars, keeping me penned in. As the road moved upwards, I was able to use my momentum to get ahead of the white Mini before the road kinked to the left at the top of the slope.
Easily the most dangerous driving behaviour I've been subjected to in all my years of cycling. This could eaily turned into a serious, deliberate incident.
