A driver intentionally overtakes me to retaliate for my not using the bike lane

The driver overtook me much too closely. His only reaction was to give me the finger and point emphatically at the bike lane off to the side (which isn't mandatory). All he had to do was wait ten seconds, and he could have passed me safely...
